One thing that has been overlooked by most reviewers is the speed of play. This game is fast. Even with the 8 to 10 second load time each hole, I can still play 18 holes in 20 min. This makes the game very addicting. Things to fix on TW2002: 1. Green grids when you are not on the fringe. 2. Hole overviews that actually show you a usefull view. 3. More stats. Stats add to replay value. The only tracked stats are not course dependent nor do they depend on what tees you play from. It tracks Longest drive, longest putt, fairways and greens in regulation, number of putts, score, birdies, eagles, hole in one, and tour winnings. The tour is a lot of fun (requires 12 rounds of golf, so it will take a while). The game can be challenging even after you master it. CPU Tiger can shoot anywhere from 62 to 70. Depending on how your swing on the analog stick is(it varies from day to day just like a real golf swing) you can shoot as low as 55(I even hit one OB on Pebble Beach #18), or easily get into trouble and shoot 70 with super Tiger. Tiger does hit the ball extremely far, so it can be more challenging to use the other golfers(who also hit the ball 350 on occasion by pushing up during swing) More courses and pros would be nice too. Chiping is tricky till you get the hang of it. Good features: putting(specifically the way you read the green) and the swing control. It relies less on timing and more on feel, which to me is more comparible to a real swing. Go buy this game, I have had it for three months and I still play at least one round a day. You can always try and improve your score, just like real golf. The wind and analog stick always keep the game challenging and keep you on your toes. Even after unlocking red shirt Tiger, it is challenging to try and stop the ball on the greens off the tee on the shorter par fours.

This game is a let down from the start. Your choices are limited to only three golf courses and six professional golfers. The only worse golf game than this was Tiger Woods for the N64 platform. The graphics are the only plus for this game and the credit for that should probably be given to Sony. The gameplay is much more advanced than Tiger 99 for PS1, that could be due to the lack of information that is given to the golfer on the lie of the ball or the grossly exagerated grid of the green. I wish I had never bought this game and I would trade it in if I were to get more than $25 from the local store. Save some money and buy either Links or Microsoft Golf for your PC.
