Best Guide to See the REAL D/FW, February 12, 2012
    By
    Laura

Not sure what the other reviewer is talking about… maybe they need the non-kindle version… As stated in the book, DFW is so massive there is no way to list every single thing to do or see, so the authors chose places that were “unique, artsy, historic, or off the beaten path.” Because of this book, I learned about and tried Jamaica Gates and Yucatan Taco Stand, did a Segway tour of Dallas, shopped in the Bishop Arts district, and went to the Fort Worth Herd in the stockyards, as well as the Water Gardens. Pretty much every city I’ve ever been to has an aquarium – who cares? I got to visit and taste the REAL DFW on my visit there last fall, and the only way I would have known about these places is from this book. This guide gives you the inside scoop. LOVED IT!

We went on a spur of the moment (excuse the pun ) to Dallas. I am so very glad that we had this guide. It helped with the hotel and places to eat and such. Thank you for helping to make this a great trip.

An ok travel book, November 13, 2013

It’d rate this book as not bad, not good; middling. If you’re not familiar with the area it would be helpful. It has quite a few nice photos. The biggest thing I noticed is that it has oddly thick pages, which adds weight to the book. I don’t want thin paper that would tear easily, but travel books should be lightweight, so the publisher’s choice of unusually thick pages is odd. The numerous (and very nice) photos and the thick pages make it seem more like an armchair travel book than something you’d cart around with you.
